The design considers site specific features including the sloping block, orientation and vehicle access from the rear. The house presents as a double level to the north and single level to the south. It has deliberately been pushed to the rear of the site, allowing strong connection of the first floor living spaces to the back garden. The upper floor is cantilevered towards the main street frontage, supported on circular steel columns to minimise excavation while maximising the living area to incorporate a full length north facing balcony.
